世上没有完全相同的球场，也没有完全相同的球洞，同样也没有完全相同的人生，差异使球场充满变数，差异使人生五彩缤纷。挑战它，欣赏它，享受它，乐趣自然来。
高球名宿Walter Hagen曾经说过：“闻闻花香，看看周围的美景，是打高尔夫球的必要的享受。”眼睛不要光盯着自己的球，别忘了欣赏一下旁边的鲜花绿水，逸蝶游鱼。看一朵春花绽放，听一片秋叶飘零，也是高尔夫球能够带给你的一部分。
在乐观者眼中，沙坑、长草、水障碍区美不胜收；在悲观者眼里，沙坑、长草、水障碍区充满杀机，所谓境由心造。
往往见到这种情形：打80杆的人回来后捶胸顿足，“那个短推杆如果不失误的话，我就打出79杆了！”而打了110杆的人却笑逐颜开，“知道吗，我从球洞区外把球切进去了！有好远呢！”
有人说，人类发明的所有运动的目的都在于娱乐，唯独高尔夫球是例外，因为它使人苦恼。事实上，要哭，抑或要笑，还不是完全取决于你自己？
规则
自律，慎独，是高尔夫球员必备的品质，其实做一个懂规矩的球员比做一个打球高手更重要。
要做懂规矩的球员，就要学好高尔夫球规则。要想守法，必先懂法，要想打好球，必须懂规则。
规则不是用来处罚你的，而是用来帮助你的，法律也是如此。 规则不能涵盖所有的事例，因为规则中规定“以公正的原则处理之”，正如法律之外还有道德。
不要用别人的错误惩罚自己。如果同伴打球不守规矩，不懂规则，坦诚地告诉他，不要自己破坏自己打球的节奏，更不要把对方的无知化做自己的愚蠢。
礼仪
球打得不好其实无所谓，只要你的风度不糟糕就好，你在球场上的表现体现着你的为人处世的态度，那可比你的杆数重要多了。
注意打球速度，高尔夫球场上的“兔子”永远比“乌龟”受欢迎。
多学一些，懂得多一些，能打得一“口”好球，也能弥补你球技的不足。

感悟
球进入长草里，掉入沙坑，气急败坏只能使事情更糟，退一招，可能柳暗花明。身陷困境中时，最好不要使自己越陷越深。因为一杆失误，一怒之下把球杆扔进水塘，所有的好心情全没有了。何必呢，不必为无法掌握或无法挽救的事情，毁掉自己原本可以十分快乐的一天。
毛泽东讲过，有利的情况可主动地恢复，往往产生于再坚持一下的努力之中。英国诗人里尔克说，挺住就意味着一切。一路高歌时，坚持会保证你真正笑到最后；半程坎坷处，坚持可能换来意外的胜利。在球进洞之前，什么事情都可能发生。
有人说,高尔夫球是两只耳朵之间的运动,是说高尔夫球需要动脑筋。也有人说，打高尔夫球只需大手大脚，头脑简单，就是说不需要智力。其实两者并不矛盾。在打球之前，要考虑距离、风向、下一杆落点处的状况等等，正确的分析才能产生正确的判断。但是一旦决定，就不要再考虑打左了有沙坑，打右了有水塘，打过头是长草，打就是了！
学会与陌生人一起打球，试着把球场当成自己的大会客厅。在球场结识的朋友的可信度，远远超过在酒桌上认识的朋友。
你战胜苦难，它就是你的财富；苦难战胜你，它就是你的屈辱。
追求不可能的事，那么可能的事就要落空。
一条锁链，最脆弱的一环决定其强度；一只木桶，最短的一片决定其容量；一个人，素质最差的一面决定其发展；一个球员，最薄弱的技术环节决定他的水平。
280码是一杆，5厘米也是一杆，两者在记分卡上没有区别。但是5厘米的推杆失误要比280码的开球打偏惨重得多。

不同球杆有不同的用途，不要厚此薄彼。

挥杆没有打到球，千万不要掩饰说自己在试挥杆，真的假的一眼就能看得出来。
没有用过的杆绝对不要带下场，奇迹只降临在已准备好的人身上。

高尔夫不同比赛形式
一、比杆赛(Stroke Play)
比杆赛为比赛者在打完规定之回合数时，一般职业比赛均为4天4回合72洞(但也有例外)，其总杆数最少者，即为冠军。
一般非职业球友，如在所参加之球队月例赛打一天18洞，其杆数即为该月份之总杆成绩，成绩最佳者为总杆冠军。业余球友因球技不同，差点有高、有低，不像PRO 为零差点，故在比赛时必须有让杆之情况，比赛总杆成绩才会公平。
二、比洞赛(Match Play)
比洞赛为每一个洞为一单元来决定输或赢之比赛，每一洞杆数最少之一方，即为该洞之获胜者，在比赛规定之洞数，一般均为18洞，但也有2回会36洞之比洞赛，如果一方领先之洞数超过未打之洞数，胜负已分故可终止比赛，领先之一方即为优胜者。
业余球友比洞赛则必须在规定比赛之洞数全部打完，以18洞4个人比赛来说明，每人责任洞数为18洞除以4为4.5洞，即每人必须赢4.5洞才算平手，如有人赢了6洞，则其实他只赢1.5洞，因其基本责任洞数为4.5洞。如以每洞每人100元之比赛，则每洞有400元之奖金，因此赢1.5洞，则有600元之奖金。
建议业余球友打球时均应小赌，如此才会照规则认真的打，移球就罚杆，也没有OK，必须推进洞如此才会进步，而小赌之基金则来当聚餐之费用，才不会伤和气。
三、个人赛 (SINGLES)
系以个人为单位之比赛，有比杆赛即比洞赛之分。
四、三人二球赛(Threesomes)
一人对抗两人，每一方各打一个球的比赛。
五、四人二球赛(Foursomes)
二人对二人之比赛，而且是每队各打一个球之比赛，Ryder Cup 就把FOURSOME列为比赛专案之一。各洞打球时，同队之打者应轮流替换打球，直到将球打进洞为止，而在T台发球也应轮流替换，即同队之球友一个人负责开奇数洞之球，另一个人则负责开偶数洞之球。各洞如遇有罚球时，不影响其打球顺序。
比洞赛时，如同队之球员没有照顺序打球，则该洞即算输。而比杆赛如顺序打错，则应罚两杆，并应从打错顺序之位置重新打。
六、三球比洞赛(Three-Ball Match Play)
三人相互对抗，各自打自己的球，每个球员同时进行两个分开的比赛的比洞赛。
七、四球比洞赛(Four-Ball Match Play)
两队每队各派两人对两人之比赛，每人各打一个球，但是在接下去之第二杆，各队可选择同组中较佳之球位置打第二杆，即同队之两人，均可在同组中第一杆最佳球位置，各打一杆算第二杆，假设PAR 4上果岭后，也是可选择较靠近洞口之位置，同组两个人可在该位置推两次，当然如先推的人，已推进洞，另一人则可不必推了。如果上果岭后，同组的第一位先推没推进，而另一人随后推进，则该洞他们成绩算3杆。也就是同组的人虽有二人打球，但只有一份成绩，而比每洞成绩较少者为赢，如同杆则为平手(HALVED)。
八、四球比杆赛(Four-Ball Strok Play)
两名比赛者作为同伴打球，各自打自己的球，同伴中的较低成绩成为该洞的成绩。两队每队各派两人为一组，共4人，每人各打1个球，同组中同队两人的杆数较低者，为该队之成绩，即在某洞同队中1人打3杆、1人打4杆，则该洞该队之成绩系以较好之3杆计。由于一组中同队的球友均有2人，因此如有一人无法完成比赛或放弃某洞之比赛也无所谓，因只要另一人有成绩出来即可。
九、最佳球比洞赛(Best-Ball Match Play)
一人对抗二人中成绩较好者或三人中成绩最好者的比洞赛。
十、史特伯福特 (STABLEFORD) 比赛
以标准标为基准，打PAR得2分，多一杆则少一分，少一杆则多一分，但最少是0分，没有负分的，即打柏忌为一分，打双柏忌则没有分，打OVEER3杆也是零分，待打完18洞再计算总成绩，成绩最高者为冠军。
业余球友则以差点为基准来比赛，即零差点，则各杆不加杆。差点10者，难度第1洞到第10洞可加一杆，即一般PAR3，打PAR得2分，但此洞如为其差点之优待洞，如打3杆PAR，则可得3分。打柏忌得2分，如差点为19，则难度1的加2杆，其余各洞则加1杆，这种比赛方式在国外很多非职业性之比赛常采用。
十一、压轴登场：大流氓规则（No Touch）！
“No Touch”，这是最“狠”的一种玩法，却被越来越多的球友采用，尤其在设点儿赌彩的时候最为常用，打到哪儿算哪儿，停在哪儿就在哪儿打，就算是球停在排水井的井盖或者水泥路上也照打不误(有些人会特别规定球停在井盖或者水泥路上时可以作为“特赦”允许先垫上一块毛巾，以免伤及球杆)；实在打不了就要接受罚杆回到原位重新打！下水了也要原地重打，哪怕你绝望地落水N多次也要罚杆、继续原地打直到过水为止。
难怪资深高尔夫玩家都形象地把这种打法叫做“大流氓规则”，流氓也就罢了，还要加上一个“大”字，可见这种规则是多么的“狠毒”！
比杆赛为比赛者在打完规定之回合数时，一般职业比赛均为4天4回合72洞(但也有例外)，其总杆数最少者，即为冠军。
一般非职业球友，如在所参加之球队月例赛打一天18洞，其杆数即为该月份之总杆成绩，成绩最佳者为总杆冠军。业余球友因球技不同，差点有高、有低，不像PRO 为零差点，故在比赛时必须有让杆之情况，比赛总杆成绩才会公平。
二、比洞赛(Match Play)
比洞赛为每一个洞为一单元来决定输或赢之比赛，每一洞杆数最少之一方，即为该洞之获胜者，在比赛规定之洞数，一般均为18洞，但也有2回会36洞之比洞赛，如果一方领先之洞数超过未打之洞数，胜负已分故可终止比赛，领先之一方即为优胜者。
业余球友比洞赛则必须在规定比赛之洞数全部打完，以18洞4个人比赛来说明，每人责任洞数为18洞除以4为4.5洞，即每人必须赢4.5洞才算平手，如有人赢了6洞，则其实他只赢1.5洞，因其基本责任洞数为4.5洞。如以每洞每人100元之比赛，则每洞有400元之奖金，因此赢1.5洞，则有600元之奖金。
建议业余球友打球时均应小赌，如此才会照规则认真的打，移球就罚杆，也没有OK，必须推进洞如此才会进步，而小赌之基金则来当聚餐之费用，才不会伤和气。
三、个人赛 (SINGLES)
系以个人为单位之比赛，有比杆赛即比洞赛之分。
四、三人二球赛(Threesomes)
一人对抗两人，每一方各打一个球的比赛。
五、四人二球赛(Foursomes)
二人对二人之比赛，而且是每队各打一个球之比赛，Ryder Cup 就把FOURSOME列为比赛专案之一。各洞打球时，同队之打者应轮流替换打球，直到将球打进洞为止，而在T台发球也应轮流替换，即同队之球友一个人负责开奇数洞之球，另一个人则负责开偶数洞之球。各洞如遇有罚球时，不影响其打球顺序。
比洞赛时，如同队之球员没有照顺序打球，则该洞即算输。而比杆赛如顺序打错，则应罚两杆，并应从打错顺序之位置重新打。
六、三球比洞赛(Three-Ball Match Play)
三人相互对抗，各自打自己的球，每个球员同时进行两个分开的比赛的比洞赛。
七、四球比洞赛(Four-Ball Match Play)
