Android的优化

Best video player for ICS so far (tested with ASUS Tranformer prime tablet and Galaxy Nexus phone)
1. Bsplayer in hw(Bsplayer engine), mode works great. I normally use BsPlayer, since it has built in samba client and therefore no need to use ex file explorer to start dice player. If BsPlayer does not cut it, then I switch to Diceplayer.
2. Mx video player does not currently decode all formats i hardware on the prime, so wait a little while with that. I currently use Dice Player which has played 99% of my videos on HW. For the other 1%, MX Player seems to have the fastest SW decoder.
3.Also MX player is so far the only player that has been handling multiple audio tracks and multiple subtitle tracks well.
4.Updated @ 20120201
Dice Player Ad. all videos can be played with the player and I like it very much

Android setting for battery saving
disable network time sync.
disable wifi or turn off wifi when screen is off.
install setcpu, set lower idle cpu speed.
or
set it at airline mode at night.
I found out that airline mode really saves battery.
more----------------

To switch it off go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Bluetooth or you can also use the power widget to disable it.

To do this, open Email application and go to your email account. Choose Account Settings > Email check frequency. Change its option to something more like an hour or never. You can always refresh manually whenever you wish to read your mails.

Well this one was for email but you can do the same for other accounts like Twitter which is updated almost more frequently and is in fact less important. Just go to Settings > Background Updates > Update Interval and set it accordingly.

For Facebook also same settings can be done. You just need to go to settings from the main Facebook screen and there select Refresh interval from the menu. Set the time as per your requirement.

1. Screen Timeout
You must have noticed, whenever your Samsung Galaxy S is left idle, its display is automatically turned off. This is nothing but screen timeout. You can set the screen timeout at minimum level so the screen would never stay active for long once left idle. You can reach to this option just below the brightness option and then set the time of screen turning off in just 15 seconds when it is left idle. Just go to Applications > Settings > Sound and Display > Screen Timeout and change the time according to your convenience.2. 2G Network Mode
3G phones eat a lot of battery while connecting to 3G networks for web connectivity. When you are not using 3G network, try to use it on 2G network mode. You can do this by pressing menu button > Settings > Wireless and network > Mobile networks and then select option for “Use only 2G networks”.3. Use Built-in Battery Usage Screen
This is hardly known to casual Android users. There is a built-in Battery Usage Screen which exactly tells what is eating your battery. To access this screen go to Settings > About Phone > Battery use. Now you can easily check out what is killing your Samsung Galaxy S battery.4. Limit The Brightness
Try to limit the brightness of your Samsung Galaxy S at a lower level. The brightness of Samsung galaxy S comes with automatic setting which decides the brightness of screen as per the surrounding. This settings requires the sensor on which would drain the battery. To change this setting just go to Applications > Settings > Sound and Display > Brightness Setting and then uncheck the option for “Automatic Brightness”. Now you can set the brightness to a lower level to save the battery.5. Disable Wi-Fi/Enable Airplane Mode
Wi-Fi is considered a far better option than 3G network in terms of battery consumption but it is also a big time battery consumer. If the option of Wi-Fi is enabled your handset will keep on scanning for available Wi-Fi networks every now and then. So it is better to disable Wi-Fi when it is not required. You can do this by enabling Airplane mode. To do this head into Settings > Wireless & Networks > Airplane Mode or you can also toggle the Wi-Fi on or off with the help of widget available in your phone.6. Disable Bluetooth
Bluetooth is required either at the time of file transfer or while using a wireless headset. Beside this there is no point to have Bluetooth running on all the time. Switching it off will probably save the battery life.To switch it off go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Bluetooth or you can also use the power widget to disable it.
7. Use Power Widget to Toggle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS & Screen Brightness
Just like any other Android phone Samsung Galaxy S also includes a built in Power Widget which can be used to toggle the settings on or off for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Screen Brightness. Long press on the background of your screen, choose widgets > select Power Control to add it to the screen. Once added you can easily toggle the on or off options for the mentioned utilities.8. Disable Constantly Syncing App
There are certain apps which sync on a regular basis to get the updates from internet. One of them is Email application which uses Push technology. You must change its setting to sync manually which is the best option but if you want it to sync automatically then set it to sync less frequently.
9. Disable GPS Location Features
As we all know, the apps which sync constantly suck battery a lot. GPS is one of those apps which top the list. When it is used for navigation battery of Samsung Galaxy S dies very fast. There are many applications which use GPS. To prevent such situation of drained battery due to GPS, change the GPS to use wireless networks and uncheck the option “Use GPS satellites”. This setting makes GPS a little less accurate which may become a problem but it helps in saving battery.10. Use Task Manager
Using a task manager is one of the wisest options. You can use Advanced Task Cleaner or any other similar app to kill applications which are not required. Also you can monitor which application is launching itself repeatedly and hence you can setup an auto kill list for such applications. The function becomes more helpful when you configure advanced task manager to show CPU usage by every single app.11. Disable/Remove Unused Apps
If an application can be disabled from being used in background, then it is fine otherwise you should remove it. Apps which drain battery most and hardly used must be removed. This can be done from Android battery panel or task manager. Just go to Settings > Applications > Manage Application and then click uninstall button to remove that specific app.12. Disable Unused Screen Widgets
Some widgets also pull a lot of data from the web. Pulling of data every time even when it is not required hamper the performance of battery. That’s why such widgets which are hardly needed must be removed.13. Power Saving Mode
Power Saving mode comes by default in Samsung Galaxy S phone. When activated, it automatically starts saving battery by functioning in proper way. To activate the power saving mode you must go to Applications > Settings > Sound and Display and then select “Power Saving Mode”. Once activated it will analyze the images and adjust LCD brightness to save battery.14. Disable Live Wallpapers
Samsung Galaxy S was launched with beautiful live wallpaper. Live wallpaper looks really good but consumes battery also. So get rid of live wallpapers. It will surely help you in saving a small extra battery.15. Use JuiceDefender
If all of the above options are looking like a big task then you can simply use JuiceDefender. JuiceDefender is a multipurpose application and the best in its class. It helps in saving battery of Android phones. In one of our earlier post we mentioned all its utility and how JuiceDefender helps in increasing battery life of Android devices.Friday, June 10, 2011

The inner workings of Secure Boot key and Nvflash
What is Secure Boot Key and how does it work?
I’ve been getting lots of questions about this, so here is some simple background:The secure boot key is an AES128 encryption key that can used to encrypt various data on the flash memory. It’s a generic nvidia tegra2 thing, that the manufacturer can optionally use to make their device more “secure”.
When the SBK is set, it’s stored in a one-time-programmable “fuse”. This also means that now that the key is out, they can’t change it on already released devices, only new devices.
When the tegra2 starts up, the AES key is available to the hardware AES engine only. E.g. not even the bootloader can read it back! However, the bootloader can *use* the key to encrypt whatever data it wants through the hardware AES engine. And here is the explanation why the blob flashing method actually works! The bootloader checks for the blob in the staging partition and encrypts and flashes it as needed.
Once the bootloader is done, it clear the key from the AES engine which makes it impossible to encrypt or decrypt things from within the OS.
So what happens when it boots into APX/Nvflash mode?
The basic APX mode is stored in the BootROM and hence can never be changed. It appears to accept only a very limited range of commands, and each command needs to be encrypted using the SBK to be accepted. If it receives a command that’s not properly encrypted, it disconnects the USB and appears to be off. This is the dreaded “0×4″ error that people have been getting when attempting to get nvflash working. It should be noted, that even with the SBK inputted into nvflash, most regular nvflash commands won’t be available. I’m still not entirely sure why (and I can’t rule out it will change).
What *is* available, is the nvflash –create command. What this command does is repartition and format all partitions, set bct and odmdata and send over all needed partitions to the device (and encrypt them as needed). This means a full recovery is possible, but regular ability to flash e.g. just boot.img or read partitions off of the device is not possible at this point.
So what do we need for nvflash?
In order to get a working (e.g. –create) nvflash, we need a few bits of information as well as some files:- Secure Boot Key
- BCT file (boot device setup, ram configuration and a bit more)
- ODM data (board-specific bit-field specifying various board settings. *Needs* to be correct
- flash.cfg (e.g. list of settings and names/identifiers of partitions.
The first four peices aren’t readily available, but through lots of effort and a good deal of luck, we have managed to recreate the needed files. Secure Boot Key has already been released (note that this was by far the hardest!) and the rest will most likely follow over the weekend. Keep in mind that we want to keep this legal, so don’t expect us to release any ready-made packs for unbricking! We will however make the recreated files available. Since these are recreated and not actual ASUS files, there should be no problems with them.

Long Method
Before you get started make sure you have space for a new widget on your home screen, if you have many widgets already filling your screen you will need to remove one of those widgets before proceeding. Since many Android phones come with multiple home screens you can always move things around or select a screen to dedicate to widgets.
Start by clicking on the Home key on your device so you can go to the home screen of your Android phone.
Next you'll need to click on the Menu button and you can then select the Add button on the screen. If you have an HTC Desire then it will say Add to Home, here's a screenshot.
After clicking on the Add button you'll then see the Widgets option among other icons. Click on Widgets in order to access all of the widgets currently found on your device.
Once in the widget screen simply navigate to the widget that you want to place on your homescreen. Typically you will find several already available widgets, plus any you have installed yourself. You can scroll through your widgets if there are numerous options to choose from.
Simply clicking on the widget you want to use will then add that widget to your home screen. Click on your home screen button and if the widget appears you're all set for use.

Short Method
On HTC phones you can also use the + button at the bottom right to add widgets. You can see it highlighted in this screenshot. The rest of the process is exactly the same.
Working with Widgets
If you want to move a widget then simply hold your finger on it. It will detach with a vibration feedback and you can then move it around to the position you want. If you want to delete it then select it in the same way until it detaches and then drag it to the trash can at the bottom of the screen.
The widget in that screenshot is the Power Control widget that you'll find on many HTC Android phones and it's extremely handy for quickly turning data, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on or off. There are loads of other great Android widgets worth checking out so take advantage and grab the ones that interest you. They are great time savers.
